The anti-emo once again with his little furry friends.. I'm afraid his raven sat this one out though. Ah, and I finally named him... his name is Hymn. Anyway, I'm going to color this one traditionally I think... for two reasons... I need to keep up my pencil skills, and my computer mouse is on the fritz right now T.T I have to use my tiny little laptop one that makes my hand cramp up like you wouldn't believe... the pains of being an artist.
I want it to be bright again, maybe some nice pastel colors for the background. Something to counter his emo-ish look. I thought about a sunset but so many reds and yellows might blend too much with the emo theme and I want it to be brighter than that. So maybe a soft sky with clouds. well.. i'll figure it out soon.
Anyway, once the color version is done I'll post it and bump this to scraps... I'm also considering selling this when it's done... if it turns out nice, and there's any interest in it. We'll see... but till then at least you can see what's going on.
~ Hymn the Anti-Emo belongs to meeeee XD *glomps him* right now it's ink on Bristol board... soon to be colored with Prismas
He is cute. You should make it a nice spring day with petals falling, though it may contradict his scarf. Any tips on using colored pencils? I'm never satisfied when I use them. Also, any tips on marker usage?

I love petals!!! but you're right it might not fit with the scarf >.< course he may be the type to dress like that during any season just to be goofy.
Oh yes, I do have a couple tips that I tell people... With colored pencils you really need to use a good brand name like Prisma. Other brands just have a waxy feel to it and it won't allow you to do the blending like prismas (if the pencil is slightly soft and almost feels like makeup then it's a good pencil). The other big tip is about the way you lay down the color. Work the pencils like you would watercolors. you start with light colors (yellow, light cloud blues, pale skin tones) then work up to darker colors. This makes the blending a little more clean, reduces smudges, and the lighter colors like yellow tend to shine through the darker colors and make them glow.
As for markers >.< I'm still learning those... but it seems to have the same rules about working light to dark.
Hope that helps!
