Kougaiji

I finished him in time!! I didn't think I was going to get Kou done in time for the themed art contest on Sunday at SacAnime, but I did!! Yay! ^___^

We had to pick a character that one of the VAs had done the voice for and I chose Vic Mignogna's character Kougaiji from Saiyuki. Mostly because (well other than Ed) Kou is my fav of all Vic's voices. That and I just adore Saiyuki... the characters, the story, just everything about it. I also adore detailed characters with red hair (like Kou and Gyojo) in fact I think that's my favorite part of this image, his hair.

and guess what...... I WON!! XD

I got first place in the contest!!

I'm so happy I could just burst and spew happy all over the place!! ^___^

I couldn't believe it, I was just so happy! So anyway I just thought I'd share my happiness and spread some more Saiyuki love all over. XD

extra note: my scanner is a booger right now... I had to tweek this all over trying to bring the color out better. I guess because the lilies in the back are so pale in the original and then Kou is so dark and bright it kinda screwed it up so I had to adjust the levels, brightness, and contrast like crazy. I'm afraid it brightened the lilies too much... but I'll keep working at making this scan look as nice as the original.
