Piano Lord

This is something I promised ~Aydra (Angie Veep from Youtube) sometime last year... and I've been tweaking him and trying to get the piano right for a long time >.<

First of all I need to apologize to you Aydra for making you wait so long!

Anyway, she was so kind to share some sheet music she had transcribed of "This is Gallifrey: Our Childhood, Our Home". It's such a beautiful piece, I really loved the simplified version she created for the piano! Such amazing talent! Here, you can see the clip of her playing this piece on youtube...

I then promised her a picture of anything she wanted as a thank you, and she had asked for the 10th Doctor playing the piano somewhere in the Tardis.

And of course those that have seen the line art for this in my scraps know I was struggling to make the piano look decent LOL T.T I'm terrible with pianos. I wish I had mine here with me... It drives me nuts having to keep it in storage for now.

I'm actually rather happy with this now. I love the lighting effects and colour now! I'm afraid it looks more abstract for the setting though. I figure you can't make out the details of the room with the light levels being like that. But he is somewhere in the Tardis. XD

I used two textures of my own for this. The torn sheet music I used as the background for my Final Fantasy IX cover pic for Trials of Love

As well as some old crinkled looking paper that I scanned in as a basic texture over the whole image.

I've been playing around with the background again, took out some textures and added a gradient or two to brighten up the back behind the Doctor's head. I also slightly blurred some of my scanned textures since I noticed they had an almost pixelated look to them. All textures/gradients are my scans/creations now.
